Wondering what opinions might be on investing one of the $4 ceramic stones
(found at my local pet store) rather than a $29 stainless aeration stone....
Are there downsides to going with the inexpensive fish-tank-ceramic
stone....e.g.sanitation or longevity issues etc?? It's not that the price
difference is all that great....it's just that I've only recently gotten
started and my wife "The Warden" has placed a temporary cease and desist
order on all equipment transactions for awhile if you take my drift.

I had great success with my first batch but I'm intrigued by using a yeast
starter culture along with some better aeration on my next batch. This
means risking the ire of my significant other of course......but carving
almost $30 out of the cost of an aeration rig ought to reduce my sentence a
bit.
