Default Yeast starter bottles

Hi all.

I fancy fermenting some wine.

I have some brewers' yeast and wonder two things

1- can I use these tablets to make a starter bottle, if so can anyone give
me any pointers?

2- can I use brewers' yeast in the must for my wine?

I've brewed and fermented before now but I generally use packets of yeast.

Thanks in adavance.

Billy H

You would probably be better off using a wine yeast such as Red Star
Premier Cuvee. I've not needed to make a starter with it, just re-hydrated
with water and pitched.

seems like I killed the first tablet, too hot.

Pitching another one appears to have started it!

Best clean a demi john and boil some ribena!!

I wonder how this will taste?

Leave the cow alone.

Leviticus'll tell you, flour and water
is just as good on some days.

You really don't want it any higher than 80F.
